In first grade,Timothy spent his days at recess chasing girls and trying to kiss them. I am a protector by nature, so my days at recess were spent pushing him down repeatedly while my friends ran away. I might have even punched him in the face a couple of times.
The summer before second grade began, Zach kept throwing sand in my younger brother’s and cousin’s eyes for playing where he wanted to play. Then he started to push them around. (Zach was close to my age, so he was a few years older than them). I walked up to Zach, grabbed his shirt with my fist, picked him up off the ground, threw him down, and told him to get lost.
In second grade, my good friend Brad tried to cut in line at the last minute which didn’t seem fair to the rest of the kids, so I kicked him where it counts and told him to go to the back of the line.
In third and fourth grade, all the kids liked to tease CJ at school, even though he was twice as big as any of them. He looked different and had some developmental challenges. I always defended him and sent those jerks on their way. It often involved pushing and shoving.
In fifth grade during the winter, I started the Snow Patrol gang. We bullied the bullies at recess.
I’m still not sure how I never got in trouble for any of that...
Looking back, I see there might have been better ways to handle things. Haha.
Those of us who are natural born protectors may find ourselves easily letting that protective energy get out of balance. When we feel moved to where we would do anything to protect others (and ourselves), we don’t always think things through.
If you have been feeling overprotective, there’s a dose of enlightenment below to help you bring things back into balance.
Love from Jac

Since we promised to treat you to an extra dose of light in your inbox, we include a Dose of Enlightenment for you at the end of each newsletter. We value your agency, so it’s up to you whether or not you receive it!
This Dose of Enlightenment is a frequency equation meant to clear a hidden and trapped emotion that you’ve been holding onto.
If today's emotion is one that we have already cleared, know that we are addressing a different layer or situation this time.
*******************************************************
Today’s emotion is: overprotective
How does this emotion apply to you? For best results, ponder this question and identify how overprotective applies to you.
Dose of Enlightenment: 124 + 876 = E
Say it out loud with intent: “one-twenty-four plus eight-seventy-six equals enlightenment.”
Breathe. Let it go. Feel the shift. Allow your body to be filled with light.
