I could not believe the insensitive, threatening and harsh words I was hearing… “If you do not cease and desist muscle testing this moment, you are in danger of losing your membership in the church.”
My husband and I had been called into our bishop’s office. He said, “Sister Taylor, because you do that foot thingy, I thought you could explain muscle testing to me.”
Apparently, there were a couple of sisters in the ward who were using muscle testing and it had come to the bishop’s attention. My husband and I, in unison replied, “I muscle test.”
We were deeply hurt by his response… and we felt even more despair when he said he would be talking to the Stake President to have my husband released from his calling in the young adult bishopric because his tithing wasn’t current—even though tithing settlement was 7 or 8 months away.
(Charlie is a real estate agent and had a closing on a house scheduled within a week. He had already planned to pay his tithes in full from that closing.)
The bishop next threatened to take away his temple recommend, and accused us of calling evil good!
We were to wait until the bishop talked to our Stake President. In the meantime, I emailed the bishop information about muscle response testing and Charlie paid his tithing.
We waited, and waited, and waited to hear back. Nothing.
Finally, after 7 weeks, I went to him. He flippantly replied, “Oh, I talked the Stake President and he said to let it go. He knows that you and Charlie are good people.”
That was it? Just like that, it was over. He had no idea of the deep pain and despair he had caused us. It was somewhat of a nightmare. Thankfully, emotional release helped get me through gracefully.
Side note: The funny thing is—this memory resurfaced the morning I wrote this newsletter. I needed to go deeper and excavate more layers and levels of hurt. That same afternoon, the bishop in this very story was in my yard, loving and serving Charlie and I by mowing our lawn.
I truly believe by clearing out the gunk, he felt the forgiveness and cleansing energy from the work. I am so grateful for his service.
If you have been deeply hurt by someone, I encourage you to do the work it takes to let things go. It feels so freeing. See the dose of enlightenment below to help you get started.
With love,
Jeri

Since we promised to treat you to an extra dose of light in your inbox, we include a Dose of Enlightenment for you at the end of each newsletter. We value your agency, so it’s up to you whether or not you receive it!
This Dose of Enlightenment is a frequency equation meant to clear a hidden and trapped emotion that you’ve been holding onto.
If today's emotion is one that we have already cleared, know that we are addressing a different layer or situation this time.
*******************************************************
Today’s emotion is: deep hurt
How does this emotion apply to you? For best results, ponder this question and identify how deep hurt applies to you.
Dose of Enlightenment: 42 + 958 = E
Say it out loud with intent: "forty-two plus nine-fifty-eight equals enlightenment.”
Breathe. Let it go. Feel the shift. Allow your body to be filled with light.
