Are You Mistaking Burnout for Bravery?

Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve strongly disliked the fact that men are physically stronger than women. If there’s one thing I hate, it’s feeling weak.

In the past, I avoided going to the gym because it reminded me of how easily men can lift heavier weights. It bothered me. A lot.

I think I’ve finally made peace with that—although I still don’t like it. Haha.

The truth is, God designed men with strength to protect women. But on the flip side, that same strength can be used to overpower them. Men can either protect or harm. Thankfully, many men choose to use their strength for good.

Just as men were designed to protect, women were designed to nurture. And on the flip side, we can also deplete or destroy—often with our words. Thankfully, many women are choosing to use their nurturing gifts for good.

I genuinely enjoy using that God-given nurturing energy. But the part I think many of us struggle with is self-nurturing. (And this applies to men too. Everyone needs care.)

I’m not talking about “self-care” in the pampering sense—but genuine soul-level nurturing. Filling your own cup, so you have the strength to fulfill your purpose and bless others.

We often view putting ourselves first as a sign of weakness. We think we need to be everything for everyone, all the time. But… why do we believe that?

Sure, it feels good to be Superman or Wonder Woman for a while. But when that heroic effort leads to burnout, we end up empty—and the self-nurturing we ignored becomes necessary for survival.

There are so many false beliefs around nurturing ourselves. And around what weakness is… and isn’t.

Maybe now is the time to rewrite those beliefs.

So, I invite you to reflect on your relationship with self-nurturing—and where you might be mistaking burnout for bravery.

There’s a dose of enlightenment below to help you start.

Love from Jac

Since we promised to treat you to an extra dose of light in your inbox, we include a Dose of Enlightenment for you at the end of each newsletter. We value your agency, so it’s up to you whether or not you receive it!

This Dose of Enlightenment is a frequency equation meant to clear a hidden and trapped emotion that you’ve been holding onto.

If today's emotion is one that we have already cleared, know that we are addressing a different layer or situation this time.

*******************************************************

Today’s emotion is: display of weakness

How does this emotion apply to you? For best results, ponder this question and identify how display of weakness applies to you.

Dose of Enlightenment: 110 + 890 = E

Say it out loud with intent: “one-ten plus eight-ninety equals enlightenment.”

Breathe. Let it go. Feel the shift. Allow your body to be filled with light.
