Jac: Here’s a question for you: Do you think it’s possible to have a strong relationship with others if you don’t have a strong relationship with yourself?
Jeri: I think it would be difficult to be a true and authentic friend, if you don’t feel good about yourself.
To be a true friend means you want to be in someone else’s company, show them respect, be excited for their accomplishments and want them to be successful and happy.
In order to be that kind of a friend, you need to have that kind of relationship with yourself.
Jac: I agree. I really don’t think we can truly show love to others, if we can’t show love to ourselves. It’s often been said that you are your own worst enemy. I know I’ve had to work a lot on my relationship with myself over the years.
In my younger days I had a lot of friends, but I didn’t really have any close friends. And that was probably largely due to my having shut down emotionally at a young age…
I was so out of touch with my own feelings, emotions, and needs at that time, that there wasn’t much of a chance for me to be in tune with other people’s feelings, emotions, and needs.
Do you have any tips to help us improve our relationships with ourselves?
Jeri: You may be surprised. My #1 tip to improve the relationship with self, if to improve your relationship with God. He knows you better than you know yourself.
An open communication with Heavenly Father about what he thinks about you and how you are doing can work wonders with how you feel about yourself. Listening to his counsel will give you strength, in body, mind, spirit and character.
Do you have anything to add to my #1?
Jac: I love your #1 tip! I would add honesty, which ties in well with your tip. Being honest with God and yourself with where you’re at and what you need to improve upon…
Honesty and trust are important foundations for any relationship, but it really does have to start with yourself. And since God is the one who speaks Truth to our hearts, He is where it all begins.
Jeri: I love that! You know, its easy to get online and look up ways to develop a good relationship with yourself—there are literally lists… but there is no better teacher than your partnership with God.
If you are ready to build a wonderful relationship with yourself so you can enjoy deeper and more meaningful friendships, genuinely take these tips to heart, do the work and enjoy the blessings and results of your endeavors.
In the meantime, see the dose of enlightenment below to get you started on that path.
Love from Jeri and Jac

Since we promised to treat you to an extra dose of light in your inbox, we include a Dose of Enlightenment for you at the end of each newsletter. We value your agency, so it’s up to you whether or not you receive it!
This Dose of Enlightenment is a frequency equation meant to clear a hidden and trapped emotion that you’ve been holding onto.
If today's emotion is one that we have already cleared, know that we are addressing a different layer or situation this time.
*******************************************************
Today’s emotion is: poor relationship with self and others
How does this emotion apply to you? For best results, ponder this question and identify how poor relationship with self and others applies to you.
Dose of Enlightenment: 70 + 930 = E
Say it out loud with intent: “seventy plus nine-thirty equals enlightenment.”
Breathe. Let it go. Feel the shift. Allow your body to be filled with light.
