Jac: Life has taught me that it never really slows down. Stress keeps coming. However, stress doesn’t have to be a bad thing. We actually need stress, and if we learn to handle it well—like a fine-tuned instrument—it can help us learn and grow and accomplish great things!
Jeri: That is so true. In the book Life-Changing Foods by Anthony William, he says we need to “stop using stress as an adversary” and to “learn to use stress as a messenger” and “a master teacher that is trying to communicate with you.”
Most people tend to fight against stress, which makes it worse.
When dealing with stress it’s important to remember that you can move past it. Nothing stays the same, everything changes. When you feel like stress is pushing you past your capacity, remember that it won’t last.
Jac: I remember a story shared by David A. Bednar about his friend who had driven up a mountain in his new 4-wheel drive truck to get firewood. He got stuck in some deep snow, and try as he might, he could not get out.
He decided he didn’t want to just sit there, so he started cutting wood and completely filled up the back of his truck with a very heavy load. He decided to try getting unstuck one more time, and his truck started to move.
Bednar said, “It was the load of wood that provided the traction necessary for him to get out of the snow, to get back on the road, and to move forward… Each of us also carries a load.
“Our individual load is comprised of demands and opportunities, obligations and privileges, afflictions and blessings, and options and constraints… Sometimes we mistakenly may believe that happiness is the absence of a load. But bearing a load is … necessary and essential.”
Jeri: I love that example… the load you bear and the burdens you carry, really do help you desire something better in life.
How have you learned to use stress as a fine tuned instrument?
Jac: So, two things have really helped me keep things in perspective, which in turn helps me manage stress better:
Remembering that the load—the stresses—are what give us traction to move forward.
Jesus Christ can make our burdens light when we turn to Him.
Jeri: That is beautiful, and is something we can all benefit from.
If you are dealing with stressful responsibilities and need some help lightening your load, there is a dose of enlightenment below. Also, remember that seeing stress as a friend and mentor is important for change—it gives you the traction needed to move forward. And most important… remember that your burdens will be made light as you turn to your Savior.
Love from Jeri and Jac

Since we promised to treat you to an extra dose of light in your inbox, we include a Dose of Enlightenment for you at the end of each newsletter. We value your agency, so it’s up to you whether or not you receive it!
This Dose of Enlightenment is a frequency equation meant to clear a hidden and trapped emotion that you’ve been holding onto.
If today's emotion is one that we have already cleared, know that we are addressing a different layer or situation this time.
*******************************************************
Today’s emotion is: carrying stressful responsibilities
How does this emotion apply to you? For best results, ponder this question and identify how carrying stressful responsibilities applies to you.
Dose of Enlightenment: 157 + 843 = E
Say it out loud with intent: “one-fifty-seven plus eight-forty-three equals enlightenment.”
Breathe. Let it go. Feel the shift. Allow your body to be filled with light.
