Jac: Years ago, my conceptual design professor assigned us a project where we needed to combine two words with very different meanings and create a design piece around it.
Jeri: That sounds fascinating. What words did you choose?
Jac: The only words that came to my mind were “separate” and “together.” Uniting those words felt so real to me.
I created an illustration of a person standing at a party, surrounded by people, but feeling completely alone. A single tear ran down his face.
“Separate Togetherness.”
Jeri: Oh Jac… that’s so powerful. I think so many people can relate to that feeling.
Jac: After finishing the digital illustration, I cut it into tiny pieces that fit onto small mirrors, about three-quarters of an inch wide. Then I placed those mirrored pieces into a little wooden box and locked it with a key.
Jeri: Wow. That’s such a vivid image. It’s like feeling fragmented—and hiding the broken pieces away so nobody can see them.
Jac: Exactly. And honestly… I was terrified to show it to my professor.
At the start of the semester, she’d told us that she could always tell how her students were really doing based on the work they created. I knew if she saw my piece, she’d know I was the one who felt broken inside.
Jeri: That’s so vulnerable, Jac. But it’s also incredibly brave.
Jac: That feeling has shown up so many times in my life—believing I’m broken… like something inside me just doesn’t fit or work right.
It’s that sense that no matter how many people are around you, you’re still carrying pieces that feel shattered—and you’re afraid someone will see. But you’re also afraid that no one ever will.
Jeri: I know so many people who have felt that way—including me. But the beautiful truth is that God knows what’s inside that box. He sees the fragments. And He holds the key to bring them back together.
Jac: I’m so grateful for that. Even when you feel broken, God sees every piece and knows how to heal you—even when you think you can never be whole again.
Jeri: And He reminds you that you're never beyond repair—that you are still worthy and still belong, even in your brokenness.
Jac: Well said.
If you’re struggling with feeling broken and are ready to set those hidden pieces free so you can begin to truly heal, see the dose of enlightenment below.

Since we promised to treat you to an extra dose of light in your inbox, we include a Dose of Enlightenment for you at the end of each newsletter. We value your agency, so it’s up to you whether or not you receive it!
This Dose of Enlightenment is a frequency equation meant to clear a hidden and trapped emotion that you’ve been holding onto.
If today's emotion is one that we have already cleared, know that we are addressing a different layer or situation this time.
*******************************************************
Today’s emotion is: feeling broken
How does this emotion apply to you? For best results, ponder this question and identify how feeling broken applies to you.
Dose of Enlightenment: 56 + 944 = E
Say it out loud with intent: “fifty-six plus nine-forty-four equals enlightenment.”
Breathe. Let it go. Feel the shift. Allow your body to be filled with light.
