Can’t Stop Won’t Stop

To run is a beautiful thing. I’ve loved running as long as I can remember, although parts of my body don’t feel the same way anymore—particularly my knees and feet. Yet my lungs and my brain… they were born to run!

Several years back, a group of friends convinced me to run the Little Cottonwood Half Marathon.

I was very familiar with running up and down basketball courts and soccer fields and had done a lot of miles running in the hills of Pleasant Grove, UT, plus I’d done some cross-country races and a few sprint triathlons, but… I had never run more than 6 or 7 miles at one time.

So I created a training plan and spent the next few months getting ready for the race—not to win, but to prepare to not kill myself. Lol.

As the miles of my training increased, the pain in my knees and feet increased. It usually came on hard at about mile 4 of running. But I was training for something, so... I could not and would not quit.

I just kept putting one foot in front of the other... and kept training and training and training… right up until the race.

I had my sister give me a foot zone the night before the race, plus my friend, Brian, fixed me up with KT tape for the race. Surprisingly, my body felt fine running—until the last mile of the race…

Again, I couldn’t and wouldn’t quit. In fact, for the last half mile, I turned up the speed and left my running buddy in the dust.

(I was mad at him anyway, because he didn’t train at all and had been holding me back during the entire race, so I felt very justified to run ahead and finish before him—haha!)

My knees and feet haven’t been the same since the Little Cottonwood half marathon. I had overworked them for months, and they didn’t let me down.

However, I feel like I let them down by pushing them too hard.

As I write this, I realize I need to ask my knees and feet for forgiveness, and clear some emotions for their healing benefit.

If you’ve been overworking yourself because you feel you just can’t quit—whatever the reason—there’s a dose of enlightenment below. Then, perhaps it’s time to ask your body for forgiveness and send it some extra love.

Love from Jac

Since we promised to treat you to an extra dose of light in your inbox, we include a Dose of Enlightenment for you at the end of each newsletter. We value your agency, so it’s up to you whether or not you receive it!

This Dose of Enlightenment is a frequency equation meant to clear a hidden and trapped emotion that you’ve been holding onto.

If today's emotion is one that we have already cleared, know that we are addressing a different layer or situation this time.

*******************************************************

Today’s emotion is: overworked, but can’t quit

How does this emotion apply to you? For best results, ponder this question and identify how overworked, but can’t quit applies to you.

Dose of Enlightenment: 86 + 914 = E

Say it out loud with intent: “eighty-six plus nine-fourteen equals enlightenment.”

Breathe. Let it go. Feel the shift. Allow your body to be filled with light.
