Check Yourself: A Christmas Eve Reminder

Jac: Since it’s Christmas Eve, our hearts are naturally turning toward the Light of the world—Jesus Christ. And because this work is so deeply connected to light and healing, this morning feels like the perfect time for a gentle reminder: you are not the Source. He is.

I’ve noticed that every now and then, people reach out to us—often students or clients—that want to know how to stay in the light with this kind of work. They usually express a fear of falling… as in “falling into the dark side of things.”

What are your thoughts on that?

Jeri: One place I see people get into danger of falling, is when when other people start coming to them for answers… when people recognize that you have gifts, they want you to tell them what’s best.

It’s really easy for the ego to get in the way. People need to seek answers from God, not from us. We are not their Source.

Jac: That’s so true. People tend to want to find the easiest way to get answers… and as a practitioner, you don’t want to fall into that trap. I’ve seen so many who have ended up on a path of leaving God out of this work because they don’t believe they need Him anymore.

Honestly, the common thread I see for when people stop using God as their source: it's when they stop giving him credit… when they start believing more in their gifts and believe they are the ones doing the healing.

Sadly, some of them have come to believe that they are all-knowing and have the right to tell people what they need to do.

What is your best piece of advice to avoid those pitfalls?

Jeri: It’s important that we are firm in the knowledge of who we are, why we are doing this, and who we serve.

Jac: Those are definitely some foundational and important questions. Would you mind sharing who you are, why you are doing this work, and who you serve?

Jeri: I believe that I am a divine daughter of God, and as such, my desire is to serve Him and His children as I do His work. I desire do His will. I believe that I have been given spiritual gifts that are specifically meant for helping God’s children.

It’s my desire that He teaches me in how He wants me to use my gifts.

I have to be in-tune to receive that instruction.

Jac: That’s beautiful. And it’s a solid foundation, which is so needed in this kind of work.

It feels especially important to remember that on Christmas Eve—when we’re celebrating the Savior who is the Light. The more this work “works,” the more important it becomes to stay anchored in humility and in Him.

Jeri: What’s your best advice?

Jac: I believe we have to check ourselves often—sometimes even down to the second when we are working on people to make sure we are connected to the right source—God.

But it doesn’t stop there. We have to check ourselves all the time—even when we aren’t working on people.

We have to make sure that we are living in such a way that we can maximize the gift of discernment—inside and outside of the office.

We have to learn to recognize... not only the darkness, but also the neutral areas…

I have learned that neutral is not of the Light.

Because it’s less stark than darkness and sometimes seemingly unrecognizable, it’s often used as an entry point for darkness and deception to come in.

It’s also important to use the gift of discernment regarding which healing modalities/techniques you get involved in.

If you don’t feel good about something, or feel like it’s a little off… even if you can’t put your finger on why you feel that way… Pay attention!

There are “healing” modalities that were created to remove God from healing.

You cannot truly bring God or Jesus Christ into something that was created to eliminate Them.

I pray every single day for my gifts of discernment to be continually sharpened and refined so that I will recognize darkness and deception in all of it’s forms. I would highly recommend that practice to everyone.

As long as you are discerning, checking yourself often, and giving the glory to God, you will be ok. However, I would caution you to never think that you’re not in danger of falling into dark things. Anyone can fall.

So be diligent, remember who you are, remember Who you serve, put God and His will first, remember HE is the one who heals—not you, and be grateful that you are blessed to be His hands, and that He gives you beautiful opportunities to help His children find healing.

Jeri: And because it’s Christmas Eve, I’ll add this: as we celebrate Christ’s birth, let’s choose to be intentional about what light we’re carrying—His. Not our own. Not our ego. Not a counterfeit. Just Him.

I challenge you to take some time and ponder this information and get clear. And when you're ready, see the dose of enlightenment below.

On this Christmas Eve, may you feel the Savior’s light more clearly—and may your gifts stay anchored in Him.

Love from Jeri and Jac

Since we promised to treat you to an extra dose of light in your inbox, we include a Dose of Enlightenment for you at the end of each newsletter. We value your agency, so it’s up to you whether or not you receive it!

This Dose of Enlightenment is a frequency equation meant to clear a hidden and trapped emotion that you’ve been holding onto.

If today's emotion is one that we have already cleared, know that we are addressing a different layer or situation this time.

*******************************************************

Today’s emotion is: fear of falling

How does this emotion apply to you? For best results, ponder this question and identify how fear of falling applies to you.

Dose of Enlightenment: 90 + 910 = E

Say it out loud with intent: “ninety plus nine-ten equals enlightenment.”

Breathe. Let it go. Feel the shift. Allow your body to be filled with light.
