Choose Forgiveness

Jac: As a single woman who has been married once, engaged twice, “almost engaged” three times, has had many relationships, has dated a LOT… and consequently, has been hurt a LOT… I have had some issues with men.

In fact, I’ve spent much time working through those issues—and good heavens, some of those issues were layered and deep!

Jeri: You have quite the history! It’s good that you’ve been working through all of that.

I know your brother (very recently single) has been hurt a LOT by women—especially one in particular while they were married… Plus we’ve seen some of the struggles he’s had with other women over the years.

Jac: It’s been very sad to see him suffer like that. Truly, we aren’t the only ones on the planet who have been hurt by the opposite sex.

Jeri: I’m certainly not a stranger to that kind of hurt. And sometimes we forget to recognize that we are the ones doing the hurting. It can become a rough cycle—you feel hurt, so you lash out and hurt the other person. And vice-versa. And round and round we go…

Jac: Right. That’s so important to remember. It’s far easier to see our own wounds than to open our eyes to how our own behavior is affecting someone else.

Whether married or single, life can sometimes bring hurtful situations caused by people close to us. Hurt is hurt, even when it wasn’t purposefully done. We get to choose to either become bitter and angry, or to forgive and heal.

I would like to invite you to choose today—along with me—to forgive the frailties, shortcomings, and sometimes deliberate jerkiness of those of the opposite sex who have hurt you deeply, and sometimes repeatedly.

Jeri: And remember to ask forgiveness and forgive yourself if you’ve been the one doing the hurting!

Jac: Yes!! Let’s free ourselves from the prison of unforgiveness! See the dose of enlightenment below to get started.

Much love from Jac

Today’s emotion is: issues with men (or issues with women)

How does this emotion apply to you? For best results, ponder this question and identify how issues with men (or issues with women) applies to you.

Dose of Enlightenment: 93 + 907 = E

Say it out loud with intent: “ninety-three plus nine-zero-seven equals enlightenment.”

Breathe. Let it go. Feel the shift. Allow your body to be filled with light.
