The Lord shined a light on him that I couldn’t miss. I held onto hope, because that was a rare thing, as was the immediate depth of our beautiful connection.
I patiently waited for him to be ready. I had even decided I would be fine if he never reached that point because he just wasn’t coming around.
And then suddenly, he said he was ready. I believed him. I think he believed himself too.
I didn’t think I was ignoring my intuition, but looking back… I totally was. I could see the goodness. I could see the potential. I knew that we would be powerful together.
But I didn’t look at what was actually right in front of my face. When we were together it was absolutely amazing. But as soon as he left, it was not good. He loved coming into my world, but then he kept shutting me out of his.
Still… I trusted more in the potential than in the facts that were being revealed.
Truthfully, I didn’t think the facts were a big deal at the time, because they were the kinds of things that could be resolved.
I mean… yellow flags are easier to turn into green flags than red flags are.
Besides, I genuinely thought those things were being resolved. I thought he was working through things, because that’s what he told me, and I wanted to believe him. Because… potential.
I don’t like to think that the people I care about are being deceitful, even to themselves.
Choices continued to be made. Choices that caused the drifting apart that brought eventual death to the potential.
As the potential began to unravel, so did our relationship. Yet still… I patiently waited for him…
Because he led me to believe he was still working on things.
Then I discovered he had unquestionably crossed his own line—his own definition of cheating. That’s when I learned he was seeking out the confidences and comfort of other women.
The crazy thing is… I felt it.
It felt just like it had before we were dating—back when he wasn’t ready.
Back when he was doing things he shouldn’t have been doing and dating girls he shouldn’t have been dating (his words not mine).
I felt it every time he drifted. But he claimed loyalty, so I had given him the benefit of the doubt—too many times.
I knew, but didn’t want to trust that I could know… I didn’t want to trust my intuition because that would make him… well… a liar… a cheater… a fake… a real jerk. And none of that fits with his potential.
Trusting potential over facts has very real consequences—like a broken heart. It’s a hard lesson to learn. Hopefully you learn from my mistakes, as well as from your own.
If you're ready to better listen to your intuition, see the dose of enlightenment below.

Since we promised to treat you to an extra dose of light in your inbox, we include a Dose of Enlightenment for you at the end of each newsletter. We value your agency, so it’s up to you whether or not you receive it!
This Dose of Enlightenment is a frequency equation meant to clear a hidden and trapped emotion that you’ve been holding onto.
If today's emotion is one that we have already cleared, know that we are addressing a different layer or situation this time.
*******************************************************
Today’s emotion is: ignoring your intuition
How does this emotion apply to you? For best results, ponder this question and identify how ignoring your intuition applies to you.
Dose of Enlightenment: 147 + 853 = E
Say it out loud with intent: “one-forty-seven plus eight-fifty-three equals enlightenment.”
Breathe. Let it go. Feel the shift. Allow your body to be filled with light.
