DIS-CON-NECTED

I really miss my mom. Visiting her at my childhood home was soothing to my soul. She was always so vibrant, funny, full of life, and just fun to be with.

Since she has been gone, it's been hard to find that same nurturing and healing feeling. I am sad I can no longer travel to see her and feel that grounding sensation of being ‘home’.

I feel so disconnected from myself during times like that—it feels strange. Grief has a way of doing that—it pulls us out of ourselves when what we really need is to feel rooted again.

Have you ever felt that disconnection? Here are a few reasons that contribute to feeling detached:

1. Too much time on social media. You may find yourself scrolling in order to take a much-needed break—which is fine. Sometimes those few minutes you planned on spending to catch up with social media friends, can turn into hours!

When this happens you may feel lonely, disengaged from the real world and ensnared in the comparison trap (your seemingly imperfect life vs. the perfect life of social media friends). You are missing real human interaction.

2. Your life feels unstable. Big changes in your life, such as the end of a relationship, starting a new job, moving to a different location, or the loss of a loved one can leave you feeling emotionally distant or can contribute to you feeling out-of-touch with yourself and others.

3. You are overwhelmed and burnt out. A never-ending list of things to do can lead to burnout. It makes you feel emotionally distant and disconnected from your own needs and emotions.

Recognizing why you are feeling disconnected is the first step in reconnecting with yourself again.

If you’d like deeper insight into why you’re feeling disconnected, using M: Collaborations with the Divine Doctor, will help you easily identify the roots of your detachment so you can integrate your body, mind and spirit.

In addition, here are some suggestions that will help solidify that connection:

1. Put away your electronic devices. Although they seem wonderful, they isolate you from the real world. Too much usage is like putting yourself in quarantine!

Set aside a time every day to unplug. Make an effort to engage with other people during this time. You need real human interaction. You may even consider a two-week social media detox.

2. Schedule time to care for yourself. Do something you love. Sit in the sun and listen to the birds, read a good book, clear emotions, take a bath, learn a new skill, create something fun, play with your pet, or take a walk.

Whatever you choose, make sure you are doing it for YOU.

3. Spend time in nature. There is just something very healing about being in the outdoors. Be mindful. Pay attention to the sights and sounds around you. Nature is one of the best ways to reconnect with yourself. It awakens your five senses, grounds and reconnects your body, mind and spirit.

Nature is a powerful healer that way.

Using Doses of Enlightenment—and incorporating the suggestions above—will help you receive great results in re-centering and reconnecting with your life.

If grief or life changes have left you feeling disconnected, there’s a Dose of Enlightenment below to help you clear disconnection and feel more at home within yourself again.

With love,

Jeri

Since we promised to treat you to an extra dose of light in your inbox, we include a Dose of Enlightenment for you at the end of each newsletter. We value your agency, so it’s up to you whether or not you receive it!

This Dose of Enlightenment is a frequency equation meant to clear a hidden and trapped emotion that you’ve been holding onto.

If today's emotion is one that we have already cleared, know that we are addressing a different layer or situation this time.

*******************************************************

Today’s emotion is: disconnected

How does this emotion apply to you? For best results, ponder this question and identify how disconnected applies to you.

Dose of Enlightenment: 99 + 901 = E

Say it out loud with intent: "ninety-nine plus nine-zero-one equals enlightenment.”

Breathe. Let it go. Feel the shift. Allow your body to be filled with light.
