Don't You Quit

The culmination of your life experiences defines who you become… it can be wonderful or devastating depending on what you choose to create in your life.

I would like to share the story of two righteous and faithful veterans who experienced trauma in their military service. I know both of them. Names have been changed.

Walker served in the army and served valiantly. As an intelligence officer, he didn’t see combat while he was stationed in Germany.  However, the horrors he experienced were very different from a combat veteran.

His orders were to serve in East Germany—behind the iron curtain, alone. After about a year, he was captured and held as a prisoner of war. Ultimately, he was released and returned home with an honorable discharge.

Miles served valiantly in the army as an intelligence officer. He was stationed in Germany during the war. Because of his rank as an intelligence officer, he, also, did not see combat.

His work was classified, and to this day, he cannot share the ordeal of his experiences. At the end of his service, he returned home with an honorable discharge.

Their stories are similar in many ways. Because I am sharing the shortest possible version, much is missing from these stories.

I can only imagine the distress and fear they must have experienced on occasion as they faithfully served our country.

Returning to the United States, their stories became very different.

Walker did his best to reclaim his life—to find some kind of normal and recover his health. Eventually, he married and raised a wonderful family. Life hasn’t been easy, but giving up was never an option.

Miles struggled when he returned home. He enrolled in university and obtained a degree so that he could support his wife and kids. Instead of life getting easier, it just seemed to get more difficult.

Unable to change direction in his life, he finally gave up, leaving his wife to support and care for him.

Both men did their absolute best, both were heroic in their field of work, and both created very different outcomes with their lives.

You are always creating, whether consciously or subconsciously. I am sure you would agree that life isn’t easy, and sometimes you may want to just give up and quit.

I know that I have had those feelings before. But seriously, life isn’t about quitting—it is about overcoming, conquering, and embracing the hard stuff. YOU CAN DO HARD. That is how you learn and grow.

If you are struggling and feel like you are unable to change your direction in life, remember these words by Jeffrey Holland:

“Don’t you quit. You keep walking. You keep trying. There is help and happiness ahead. Some blessings come soon, some come late, and some don’t come until heaven… (but) they will come. It will be all right in the end. Trust God and believe in good things to come.”

My friend, remember that you have the power to create and change direction.

Sometimes things are hard because something bigger and better is about to happen.

If you're ready to move in a more positive direction—not matter what happened in your past, no matter where you are currently—see the Dose of Enlightenment below.

With love,

Jeri

*******************************************************

Since we promised to treat you to an extra dose of light in your inbox, we include a Dose of Enlightenment for you at the end of each newsletter. We value your agency, so it’s up to you whether or not you receive it!

This Dose of Enlightenment is a frequency equation meant to clear a hidden and trapped emotion that you’ve been holding onto.

If today's emotion is one that we have already cleared, know that we are addressing a different layer or situation this time.

*******************************************************

Today’s emotion is: unable to change direction in life

How does this emotion apply to you? For best results, ponder this question and identify how unable to change direction in life applies to you.

Dose of Enlightenment: 109 + 891 = E

Say it out loud with intent: "one-zero-nine plus eight-ninety-one equals enlightenment.”

Breathe. Let it go. Feel the shift. Allow your body to be filled with light.
