Dying Isn't Easy... So Choose to Age Gracefully

“Dying isn’t easy,” my 95-year-old dad told me on more than one occasion. My sisters and I would take turns going to Fillmore, Utah, once or twice a month to help care for him. He still wanted his independence, and would go for a drive on his ATV daily.

He was pretty much driving blind—but he knew those hills like the back of his hand, so it wasn’t a big deal… that is until he drove into the side of the garage! I’m so glad I wasn’t there that week and didn’t have to make the decision to take away his keys.

It was hard watching my once strong, well built, robust and powerful father, grow weaker and weaker as he neared death. I’m so thankful that his mind was sharp right up until the end.

Like dying, getting old isn’t easy either.

Wouldn’t it be great if that ever-elusive fountain of youth was real? On one hand, I would love to stay young forever and not have to worry about the things other senior citizens worry about.

But, on the other hand, I really want to age gracefully and embrace the wonders and the wrinkles—feeling great on the inside and radiating a healthy glow on the outside would work just fine for me.

I have found that taking care of myself through the foods I eat is vitally import in the way I feel. Eating at least 80% fruits, vegetables, herbs, and wild foods are key to feeling your best.

Berries are a great source of antioxidants, which are anti-aging. Sweet fruits feed the brain, liver and reproductive system—not that I’m planning on reproducing at my age! Lol.

Vegetables are a great source of minerals. These foods are not only good for you, but they are healing foods that help you feel and look great.

Here are some other ways to stay young and healthy as you age:

Keep your mind sharp by playing mind puzzles and reading. Reading a book makes you smarter and slows down the decline of brain function as you age.

Exercise more. Physical activity helps you look younger, live longer and reduces cellular aging.

Take time to play and enjoy life. Fill your bucket with simple things. Learn to play the piano, take a painting class, take a walk in the park. These are just a few activities that will keep you having fun and feeling young.

To help you have the courage to embrace aging gracefully, see the dose of enlightenment below.

With love,

Jeri

Since we promised to treat you to an extra dose of light in your inbox, we include a Dose of Enlightenment for you at the end of each newsletter. We value your agency, so it’s up to you whether or not you receive it!

This Dose of Enlightenment is a frequency equation meant to clear a hidden and trapped emotion that you’ve been holding onto.

If today's emotion is one that we have already cleared, know that we are addressing a different layer or situation this time.

*******************************************************

Today’s emotion is: wanting to stay young

How does this emotion apply to you? For best results, ponder this question and identify how wanting to stay young applies to you.

Dose of Enlightenment: 97 + 903 = E

Say it out loud with intent: "ninety-seven plus nine-zero-three equals enlightenment.”

Breathe. Let it go. Feel the shift. Allow your body to be filled with light.
