I will forever remember the day my husband was taken in for emergency surgery. It is seared in my memory as one of the worst days of my life.
Charlie was recovering from a routine surgery on the cardiac floor at EIRMC.
The call came on a Sunday morning. He had sepsis and the doctors needed to get him into surgery to scrape out the infection.
My daughters and I rushed to be with him and barely got there before they wheeled him in for the operation. We were led to the waiting room, where I vacillated between laughing hysterically or crying uncontrollably. It was ugly.
Charlie had been in and out of the hospital over the years for surgeries and heart issues. He had always been okay, and never experienced any complications—at least, not like this. I was shocked.
Can you remember a time in your life where you felt traumatized, stunned or devastated?
Everyone suffers from emotional shock at one time or another. Some signs to look for with emotional shock are:
1. You feel unsafe and afraid.
2. Your brain doesn’t seem to be working. You may feel disconnected and things just don’t seem real.
3. You may experience feelings of danger, which triggers the fight, flight or freeze response.
4. You feel abnormally exhausted and find yourself unable to sleep, or… sleeping way too much.
5. Your behavior is illogical and irrational, and you may have feelings of guilt, shame or blame.
6. You don’t feel or act like yourself and your personality has changed.
If you are noticing the feelings of past shock come up, or are now dealing with emotional shock—self-care is imperative.
Find ways to rest, relax, breathe and calm your mind. Do things you enjoy, like painting, taking a walk or going for a nature drive, soak in a hot spring, or nurture yourself by eating healthy and drinking a hot cup of herbal tea. Do the things you love.
And most of all, treat yourself to an emotional release session with doses of enlightenment to raise your vibration and to get yourself back on track quickly.
If you're ready to get started by clearing your emotional shock, see the dose of enlightenment below.
With love,
Jeri

Since we promised to treat you to an extra dose of light in your inbox, we include a Dose of Enlightenment for you at the end of each newsletter. We value your agency, so it’s up to you whether or not you receive it!
This Dose of Enlightenment is a frequency equation meant to clear a hidden and trapped emotion that you’ve been holding onto.
If today's emotion is one that we have already cleared, know that we are addressing a different layer or situation this time.
*******************************************************
Today’s emotion is: shocked
How does this emotion apply to you? For best results, ponder this question and identify how shocked applies to you.
Dose of Enlightenment: 86 + 914 = E
Say it out loud with intent: "eighty-six plus nine-fourteen equals enlightenment.”
Breathe. Let it go. Feel the shift. Allow your body to be filled with light.
