Charlie just had a nose job—a surgery to correct a deviated septum and repair a hole going all the way through from the right nostril to the left. His nose is HUGE!
A few days after his surgery, I looked up from the notes I was studying, and saw him standing in the doorway with a half-eaten apple in his hand.
I said, “Whatcha doin?”
He replied, “I need to go to the bathroom.”
Me: “Are you going to take that apple with you?”
Him: “No, I already went.”
Me: “Is there something I can help you with?”
Him: “No.”
Me: “Then why are you just standing there?”
Him: “I just wanted to say hi.”
Me: “Hi.”
Him: “I’m going to go out to my office and get some work done.”
At that point he looked as if he had shrunk into a tiny little leprechaun, the conversation wasn’t making sense and I remembered that my grand-daughter asked me a couple of days previously if grandpa was on something because he was saying things he normally wouldn’t say!
But seriously… he called the anesthesiologist a ‘gas passer’ before he was on anything, so I just considered his comments normal—a part of his silly dad jokes…
Anesthesia and pain killers can really play havoc on bodily functions, and day 5 post-op was the most difficult. He was stressing about little things he felt he should be doing and wanted to get back to work, which is typical behavior for him.
I told him I was putting my foot down and he would not be working that day, and sat him in his recliner with instructions to rest. He was fast asleep in minutes and slept most of the day.
Do you ever feel like you are unable to handle the stresses that seem to be coming from every direction every single day?
Does it feel like it is just too much to bear? Because of those day-to-day stresses do you feel like you have to keep working longer and harder in order to stay on top of things?
Do you feel like you are completely overworked but just can’t quit?
Working long hours combined with chronic stress can have a long-lasting, negative impact on your health and well-being. Stress has been linked to a variety of health concerns, such as diabetes, depression, high blood pressure and digestive issues—which can increase the risk for a heart attack or a stroke.
Dear readers—stress and overwork are no way to live! I’ve tried living that way and it left me feeling drained, exhausted and depressed.
Are you ready to change that behavior in order to experience a life full of joy? It takes effort, but it is totally doable.
Here are my tips for change:
1. Give yourself permission to slow down and enjoy life. It’s okay to do things well, and not perfectly. Perfection is a trap that will keep you stuck in a vortex that never goes anywhere.
2. Fill your bucket with things you love and do them—even if you only have 15 minutes a day to spare. It’s okay to start slow. Make a list of three things you would enjoy doing every day. These are things that should be non-negotiable.
For instance… quiet time is an everyday must have for me. I love to pray, read, study and just think or meditate. It is non-negotiable and fills me with peace and helps contribute to a joyful day.
3. Spend time in nature. Nature helps you feel balanced, grounded, centered and raises your vibration. In many parts of the country people are dealing with freezing temperatures. Find ways to get outside… bundle up and go for a walk, shovel snow or take up a winter sport—like snowmobiling, skiing or tubing, or get in your swim suit and enjoy a soak in a nice hot pool.
These are just a few things that I find helpful. Feel free to expand the list and make it work for you. You are worth it. You are meant to experience a life full of vibrant health and joy.
Ponder on the doses of enlightenment below and then say them to help get you started… today there are two doses because they go hand in hand. Wishing you the very best.
With love,
Jeri

Since we promised to treat you to an extra dose of light in your inbox, we include a Dose of Enlightenment for you at the end of each newsletter. We value your agency, so it’s up to you whether or not you receive it!
This Dose of Enlightenment is a frequency equation meant to clear a hidden and trapped emotion that you’ve been holding onto.
If today's emotion is one that we have already cleared, know that we are addressing a different layer or situation this time.
*******************************************************
Today’s emotions are: unable to handle daily stress & overworked but can’t quit
How does this emotion apply to you? For best results, ponder this question and identify how unable to handle daily stress & overworked but can’t quit applies to you.
Dose of Enlightenment: 79 + 921 = E & 86 + 914 = E
Say it out loud with intent: “seventy-nine plus nine-twenty-one equals enlightenment” and “eighty-six plus nine-fourteen equals enlightenment.”
Breathe. Let it go. Feel the shift. Allow your body to be filled with light.
