Jeri: Recently, I was snuggling my sweet granddaughter—she’d had a particularly difficult day.
It wasn’t long before our cat, Maury, jumped up onto the sofa, locked eyes with my granddaughter and proceeded to walk across her to lay on my lap. He then slapped her very hard with his tail, trying to get her to leave. He was being overly possessive.
Nobody snuggles grandma but him. Haha.
Jac: That reminds me of my nephew. He didn’t talk to me for an entire year when he was a toddler, because he was angry with me every time I had to leave to drive back to Utah (where I lived at the time).
Once I moved back to the area, he was always happy to see me—unless I had a guy with me. If looks could kill, my past boyfriends would all be dead. Luckily looks don’t kill, so they usually had a chance to win him over.
Jeri: Those are such cute examples of possessiveness. But when I think about it, we all get possessive at one time or another. I see myself being very possessive with my time.
Jac: I can relate to that. I try to use my time wisely and I have a hard time when it feels like other people waste my time. Like stand me up for appointments, or consistently arrive late to their appointments.
Or… if they want me to talk to them on the phone!! Haha.
On a more serious note… Possessiveness unchecked can create some pretty terrifying situations. You’ve all heard stories… Maybe you’ve even been on one end or the other of a possessive relationship.
I think it’s so important that we check ourselves often and make sure that we are aware of any unhealthy bonds we are creating with people.
Sometimes we’re the ones forming unhealthy attachments. And other times, it’s others attaching to us. Either way, if we’re aware, we can clear those cords and reclaim our energy.
What does it feel like to you if someone is attaching negative bonds to you?
Jeri: A lot of times it feels like:
1. Your energy is being drained or zapped. And it will typically come out of nowhere.
2. Other times you just feel a yucky energy. Sometimes it’s all over you and around you. And other times it will be located at a particular place in your body.
3. You just don’t feel like yourself and you find yourself behaving differently than you normally would in certain situations.
How do you know if you have negative bonds that you have attached to someone?
Jac: You likely have created negative bonds/attachments to someone if:
1. You have expectations of another person and/or you’re attached to an outcome of something you want them to do.
2. You feel like you want someone to be punished for something they did.
3. You have a lot of negative feelings toward someone and you aren’t actually clearing them, but continue holding onto them.
4. You feel jealous of the way someone spends their time and/or who they are spending time with. Possessiveness.
Jeri: How do you get rid of negative bonds/attachments?
Jac: No matter if you created the negative bond, or if someone is attaching one to you, here are a few ways to get rid of them:
1. Pray and ask Heavenly Father to remove them.
2. Visualize you and the person and see/feel what’s happening between you. What does that bond (or those bonds) look like? What do they feel like? (it's usually more than one). Then do whatever you need to do to cut or destroy those cords. (Maybe you need to burn them, or cut them with giant chain cutters… or… just do whatever feels right to you!)
3. Clear the emotion “possessiveness” with the intention to clear out any negative bonds, cords, chains and attachments—coming to you or from you.
Jeri: The dose of enlightenment for “possessiveness” is below... use it if this resonated with you—it will help you restore your spiritual boundaries!

Since we promised to treat you to an extra dose of light in your inbox, we include a Dose of Enlightenment for you at the end of each newsletter. We value your agency, so it’s up to you whether or not you receive it!
This Dose of Enlightenment is a frequency equation meant to clear a hidden and trapped emotion that you’ve been holding onto.
If today's emotion is one that we have already cleared, know that we are addressing a different layer or situation this time.
*******************************************************
Today’s emotion is: possessiveness
How does this emotion apply to you? For best results, ponder this question and identify how possessiveness applies to you.
Dose of Enlightenment: 74 + 926 = E
Say it out loud with intent: “seventy-four plus nine-twenty-six equals enlightenment.”
Breathe. Let it go. Feel the shift. Allow your body to be filled with light.
