Charlie spent the morning on the home tour with Upper Valley Realtors. By the time he returned home and had lunch, he looked and felt tired.
I asked him if that meant he was going to take time for a nap. He told me he had a full and busy schedule, and needed to prepare things for tomorrow.
I reminded him that it’s okay to take a power nap. He declined.
How often do you continue to push yourself to do more when you just need to relax?
There always seems to be that one last video or reel that you can’t pull yourself away from. This, in turn, makes you feel anxious. It makes it hard to settle down and you may find yourself feeling fidgety and restless.
Here are 3 tips to help you rest and relax if a power nap isn’t for you—it only takes 15 or 20 minutes:
1. Play any music of your choice. If you have an old saxophone in the closet, dust it off and enjoy a little jazz. If you like to play the piano, sing along. If you love to dance—rock out. Feel the rhythm and enjoy.
2. Paint. Pull out your acrylics, water colors, colored pencils, or crayons and color a picture or make your own creation. Just have fun with it. It doesn’t need to be perfect to be effective.
3. Get out in nature. Take your shoes off and walk on the grass. Water your plants or pull some weeds from the garden. Take a quick walk down the street and back.
The trick is to do something different—to take your mind off of having a difficult time relaxing.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again.
Choosing one of the above tips, or one of your own, will help train your mind to relax while you enjoy a few minutes in your day. It’s okay to have some fun for 15 or 20 minutes!

Since we promised to treat you to an extra dose of light in your inbox, we include a Dose of Enlightenment for you at the end of each newsletter. We value your agency, so it’s up to you whether or not you receive it!
This Dose of Enlightenment is a frequency equation meant to clear a hidden and trapped emotion that you’ve been holding onto.
If today's emotion is one that we have already cleared, know that we are addressing a different layer or situation this time.
*******************************************************
Today’s emotion is: difficulty relaxing
How does this emotion apply to you? For best results, ponder this question and identify how difficulty relaxing applies to you.
Dose of Enlightenment: 153 + 847 = E
Say it out loud with intent: "one-fifty-three plus eight-forty-seven equals enlightenment.”
Breathe. Let it go. Feel the shift. Allow your body to be filled with light.
