From Trusted to Toxic: What I Didn’t See Coming

I had never received such hate before. Which I don’t imagine is ever fun, but when it comes from people you’ve loved and trusted—it’s especially awful.

I had grown to love this Texas family… first because of my roommate and best friend at the time. And again, as I dated and became engaged to her brother. I knew them all. Even their grandparents. I loved them like family.

But when I discovered Adam had been lying to me—about so many things—and was secretly trying to stop me from finishing my degree (I’d worked so hard for 5 years and only had one semester left)… I realized something was very wrong.

He didn’t believe in degrees (he didn’t have one) and was determined to keep me from getting mine. His controlling side—once hidden—was now on full display.

I knew it was time to walk away.

The hardest part wasn’t losing him—it was losing all of them. His family. Our shared friends. And worst of all… my best friend

I thought she would understand.
But I didn’t know the lies he would tell.
I didn’t know how he’d twist the truth, or how his family would respond with letters filled with accusations and hate.

The worst of it came from my best friend. She used everything I had ever shared with her—every vulnerable moment—as weapons to wound me.

Nobody has ever driven daggers into my heart like she did.

Sometimes love ends in a kind of pain you never expected.
But I can promise you this—God is still good. And He will heal your heart.
He can take the worst of circumstances and use them for your highest good—if you let Him.

Looking back, their betrayal became confirmation: I was never meant to be part of that family.
That truth alone was a blessing I couldn’t see until later.

If you’ve ever been hurt by love, there’s a dose of enlightenment below.
I know it’s hard in the moment, but when you can shift toward gratitude—even just a little—you’ll start to see the Light again and feel of God’s love.

Love from Jac

Since we promised to treat you to an extra dose of light in your inbox, we include a Dose of Enlightenment for you at the end of each newsletter. We value your agency, so it’s up to you whether or not you receive it!

This Dose of Enlightenment is a frequency equation meant to clear a hidden and trapped emotion that you’ve been holding onto.

If today's emotion is one that we have already cleared, know that we are addressing a different layer or situation this time.

*******************************************************

Today’s emotion is: hurt by love

How does this emotion apply to you? For best results, ponder this question and identify how hurt by love applies to you.

Dose of Enlightenment: 56 + 944 = E

Say it out loud with intent: “fifty-six plus nine-forty-four equals enlightenment.”

Breathe. Let it go. Feel the shift. Allow your body to be filled with light.
