Giving Care

Jac: Have you ever heard of the paradox of tolerance?

Jac: There are a lot of people out there who are suffering due to debilitating health issues that go unexplained by the medical field. After going through multiple expensive tests of all varieties, they are often told by doctors that it’s all in their head. In other words: “You’re just crazy!” Or “you’re just making things up.”

Or… perhaps even worse… they are told it’s autoimmune and that their own body is attacking itself. (Medical hexing at it’s finest.)

Jeri: I have never believed that God would give us a body that would turn into our #1 enemy.

I’ve heard a lot of those kinds of hopeless stories going around—more and more as time goes on…

Jac: Yes. It’s sad how commonplace those stories have become.

Recently, I saw a client who shared with me that she often feels too sick to get out of bed and take care of her kids. Some days—when she can get out of bed—she is in so much pain that she can’t get herself out of the house to buy groceries to feed her family.

Her husband works long days and then has to help with the cooking and the clearing. He is exhausted.

Thankfully, she has good days once in a while. However, when people see her, they don’t have a clue anything is wrong. They don’t understand how she could be sick when she looks so normal.

It’s been really hard on their family. They finally recognized that they can’t go on living like this—they need help!! So they uprooted their lives to move across the country so that his parents can help take care of the kids when needed.

During her session, she shared how inadequate she feels as a mother and as a wife because there are too many days she is unable to do the things she feels she needs to do.

Jeri: That is heartbreaking. I’ve had moments of feeling inadequate in caregiving too.

Jac: Same here! And I’m not even a mom. But I have clients, kitties, nieces and nephews, and other people who rely on me for certain things.

Jeri: The problem is, when you hold onto feelings of inadequacy and frustration with your situation, it only makes your situation worse.

You have to address those hidden and trapped emotions to find healing. Because I truly believe that there is hope and there is healing.

Jac: Exactly. In fact, a lot of these unexplained illnesses and “autoimmune diseases” could be greatly helped by clearing emotions. The more I study about nervous system regulation (which many people are finding is clearing up various symptoms and illnesses for them—including diagnosed illnesses), the more I understand just how important it is to clear emotions regularly.*

If you have been feeling inadequate in your caregiving responsibilities, whether it’s for people or pets, see the dose of enlightenment below.
