Glass Half Empty

Jeri: As the young women’s assistant girls camp director, I was asked, spur of the moment, to talk about my experience at girls camp when I was a girl.

My sarcastic reply… “You mean 50 or more years ago as a 12-year-old? I hated it!”

Jac: That sounds like something you would say!

Jeri: They all laughed. In the moment I couldn’t remember why I hated girls camp. But after I thought about it, I realized I went because my 17-year-old sister convinced me it would be fun and I should go. She would be there too.

Well, I don’t remember my sister even speaking to me while we were there. She was popular and busy with her friends.

Jac: Oh no! That would have been a big disappointment.

Jeri: My biggest memory is when everyone in the camp left, except for three 1st years. We didn’t know where everyone else went or how to find them. Although I was okay with the other 2 girls, apparently, I didn’t like being left behind, because I decided I was never going to girl’s camp again!

Jac: Now I know why you’ve always said you hated camping! I never understood why until now…

Jeri: Yeah, me either! haha… I was a bit of a pessimist, and still am at times. No wonder my mom always told me that “the pessimist sees the glass half empty and the optimist sees the glass half full." At the time I did not understand what she was referring to.

I was still clueless in college when she gave me the book, “How to win friends and influence people.”

I finally get it!

Jac: It’s definitely important to learn to look on the bright side of things. It makes life so much easier and so much better!

Jeri: So true. I’m ready to clear that!

Readers, if you would like to step into a more positive mindset, go ahead and say the dose of enlightenment below.

Love, Jeri and Jac

Since we promised to treat you to an extra dose of light in your inbox, we include a Dose of Enlightenment for you at the end of each newsletter. We value your agency, so it’s up to you whether or not you receive it!

This Dose of Enlightenment is a frequency equation meant to clear a hidden and trapped emotion that you’ve been holding onto.

If today's emotion is one that we have already cleared, know that we are addressing a different layer or situation this time.

*******************************************************

Today’s emotion is: pessimism

How does this emotion apply to you? For best results, ponder this question and identify how pessimism applies to you.

Dose of Enlightenment: 77 + 923 = E

Say it out loud with intent: “seventy-seven plus nine-twenty-three equals enlightenment.”

Breathe. Let it go. Feel the shift. Allow your body to be filled with light.
