Jac: One of the most important things we teach our students, is to be respectful of the agency of other people—especially when they are working with their clients. Why do you feel it’s so important to show that respect—to always ask permission?
Jeri: It’s all about honoring one’s agency and their journey. Even God will not cross someone’s agency. It’s part of a Divine plan.
Jac: What happens when a person interfere’s with someone else’s agency?
Jeri: There are so many different ways and answers to that question. We’ve probably all experienced someone who tries to force their beliefs on us and it becomes very uncomfortable.
There may have been times when you offered your opinion but it was not appreciated.
Or there may be times when someone decides that they know what’s best for you and will carry out their plan, even when you’ve asked them not too.
Jac: That’s all pretty heavy stuff. Do you have an experience you’re willing to share where you felt someone took away your agency?
Jeri: Since asking permission is also included in this… when we were going through foot zoning classes a fellow student practiced the zone on me. She pushed so hard that she bruised my feet.
It was very painful during and after the foot zone. I asked her to stop several times and tried to pull away, but she was stronger than me. I felt like she took away my agency because she wouldn’t listen to what I needed.
Jac: That is not okay.
Jeri: I had to work really hard on forgiving her and I did. The next day, I thanked her for the zone. And she gave me a surprising reply!
She said, “I prayed about what kind of zone you needed—a hard one or a soft one… and the answer was HARD.”
So that’s what she gave me. Even though I never would have chosen that. I don’t like pain.
Jac: Knowing what you know about the importance of agency, how would you have handled that differently if you were in her shoes and received the answer that someone needed a “hard” zone?
Jeri: If I was in her shoes and giving someone a hard zone, and they asked me to stop because I was hurting them, I would absolutely respect their request.
Jac: People have different definitions of what a “hard zone” might be, and it’s never ok to hurt someone. We were taught to “heal, not kill.” Lol. That really was a powerful learning experience for us as future foot zone instructors.
If you have ever felt like someone interfered with your agency, or if you’ve ever been guilty of interfering with another’s agency, there’s a dose of enlightenment below.
With love,
Jeri and Jac

Since we promised to treat you to an extra dose of light in your inbox, we include a Dose of Enlightenment for you at the end of each newsletter. We value your agency, so it’s up to you whether or not you receive it!
This Dose of Enlightenment is a frequency equation meant to clear a hidden and trapped emotion that you’ve been holding onto.
If today's emotion is one that we have already cleared, know that we are addressing a different layer or situation this time.
*******************************************************
Today’s emotion is: interfering with others
How does this emotion apply to you? For best results, ponder this question and identify how interfering with others applies to you.
Dose of Enlightenment: 157 + 843 = E
Say it out loud with intent: “one-fifty-seven plus eight-forty-three equals enlightenment.”
Breathe. Let it go. Feel the shift. Allow your body to be filled with light.
