Growing up, people called me a tomboy. I’m naturally athletic, I loved to fight and wrestle around, I didn’t care for dolls, and I hated wearing a dress (still do).
In my communications class in college, my professor had us move all of our desks into a circle so that we could see each other’s faces. He asked everyone in the room to vote on several things…
I only remember what two of those things were:
1. The most beautiful girl in class.
2. The most feminine girl in class.
When he shared the results, the girl who was voted most beautiful burst into seemingly inconsolable tears. When she finally calmed down a little bit, she revealed that she feels ugly every single day. She had wondered if it was all a joke that almost everyone in the room would say that she was beautiful—she thought we were making fun of her.
But no… she was quite literally stunning—she turned heads everywhere she went.
Sadly, her perception was that people looked at her because they were laughing at her unusual unattractiveness.
Shockingly, I had been voted the most feminine of all the girls in the class. I remember my face turned red and I felt angry. What a joke! I’d never considered myself to be feminine, because, at that time, I considered femininity to be weak. And I’d done everything in my power to make myself strong and independent.
Couldn’t they see I was just wearing a t-shirt, jeans, and skater shoes!? Didn’t they know I’d shut down all of my emotions as a kid to protect myself from feeling (which I had also considered to be a weak trait)!? Didn’t they know I used to beat up boys on the playground!? Didn’t they know that guys didn’t want to date me, only my roommates!?
In retrospect, those are terrible things to vote on, however, the whole experience made a powerful impression on me, and hopefully others.
The purpose of this exercise had been to teach us that our perceptions of ourselves are very different from what other people perceive, and also as a reminder that we don’t generally know how someone perceives themselves either, and it could be drastically different from our own perceptions.
It’s a great reason not to place judgments and labels on other people. The only way to understand someone is to have a conversation with them.
It’s taken me years to learn that it’s okay to be feminine. And to take it a step further, to learn to be grateful to be a woman and recognize femininity as part of my God-given divine nature.
If you have been struggling with your divine nature and have been misrepresenting feminine or masculine principles (meaning there is some kind of imbalance between the two), see the dose of enlightenment below.
Know that God loves you right where you are, that He knows you, He knows the plans He has for you, and He has blessed you with your unique gifts, talents, and divine nature to help you BECOME what he designed you to become.
Love from Jac

Since we promised to treat you to an extra dose of light in your inbox, we include a Dose of Enlightenment for you at the end of each newsletter. We value your agency, so it’s up to you whether or not you receive it!
This Dose of Enlightenment is a frequency equation meant to clear a hidden and trapped emotion that you’ve been holding onto.
If today's emotion is one that we have already cleared, know that we are addressing a different layer or situation this time.
*******************************************************
Today’s emotion is: misrepresenting feminine principles / misrepresenting masculine principles
How does this emotion apply to you? For best results, ponder this question and identify how misrepresenting feminine principles / misrepresenting masculine principles applies to you.
Dose of Enlightenment: 97 + 903 = E / 98 + 902 = E
Say it out loud with intent: “ninety-seven plus nine-zero-three equals enlightenment / ninety-eight plus nine-zero-two equals enlightenment.”
Breathe. Let it go. Feel the shift. Allow your body to be filled with light.
