I’ve never loved working for other people. For one, I don’t enjoy being told what to do. Plus, being crammed into someone else’s box of how to do things really grates on my soul—it created a lot of stress for me.

I love working for myself and don’t know if I could ever go back to having an employer. So for me, owning a business is amazing! However, it comes with different kinds of stress.

One of the stresses that arises at times is a worry for my financial security.

My client schedule is usually pretty booked out, but I remember one week when I had several people need to reschedule and people hadn’t been booking as regularly. 

I started feeling super stressed and worried about money. My face broke out, I had all these new strange aches and pains coming out of nowhere. 

And then I caught myself. I remembered that God has always taken care of me in my business. There has always been enough. I pulled out my Bible to read the “Consider the Lillies of the Field” passage. 

I reminded myself that when my schedule opens up, it’s always for a reason. (That particular time, I was able to get an emergent client in, as well as spend some much needed time with friends and family.)

I started expressing more gratitude to God for His goodness and for the abundance He blesses me with. I reminded myself that I am open to the presence of miracles, and suddenly I saw abundance all around me: blades of grass, grains of sand, a bountiful garden (haha yes including zucchini), etc… 

That all really shifted the energy. And wouldn’t you know it, the next day many clients reached out to schedule appointments and I ended up being booked out farther in advance than I usually am.
