Jac: I’ve been looking at the higher functions of the sciatic nerve, and one of them stuck out to me as particularly interesting: it assists us in coping with life in the now.
Jeri: That sounds like something everyone needs. We deal with so much stress in our lives—particularly this time of year.
Jac: I recently had a foot zone client who was really struggling to cope with her life right now. She’s been super stressed and busy—she’s working full time and going to school to get her master’s degree. She has noticed that when she gets stressed, her digestive system goes crazy.
She was finally on a school break for a couple weeks and said she was so happy to have some time off, yet instead of being able to rest up, she had been running to the bathroom all day dealing with diarrhea.
Jeri: Not fun!
Jac: Right!? When I got to her digestive system in the foot zone, she started clearing a ton of emotions. It felt like her body was trying to overcompensate for wanting to let things go (hence the diarrhea), but she wasn’t actually letting her stress and emotions go…
When I told her that, it really resonated with her and she mentioned that she’s been fully living in the stress that would be returning in a couple weeks.
I encouraged her to allow herself to enjoy her time off—to be present in the moment—to live in the now. She seemed relieved at the suggestion and she gave herself permission to do so.
Jeri: How does all of that tie back to the sciatic nerve?
Jac: When you’re super stressed and stuck in fight-or-flight, tension can really take over in your body. And if the those nerves in the sciatic area get compressed or pinched, it does affect your bowels—it can contribute to constipation, incontinence or diarrhea.
Jeri: Did you pick up anything with her sciatic nerve in the foot zone?
Jac: Nothing in particular, but everything was tight and sluggish during that zone, including her sciatic nerve, so I wouldn’t doubt there could have been some issues going on there.
Jeri: That really is interesting. She was saying one thing—that she was excited to be on break from school… but her body was doing another thing—freaking out about the stress that would be coming in a couple weeks… that’s a form of hypocrisy. And one of the emotions that commonly traps in the sciatic nerve is hypocritical.
No one would ever choose to be hypocritical. But our body can choose it for us if we aren’t in alignment with our truth.
Jac: Wow, yes! That’s so true. Now is a great time to clear that!
If you're ready to realign with your truth, see the dose of enlightenment below :)
With love,
Jeri and Jac

Since we promised to treat you to an extra dose of light in your inbox, we include a Dose of Enlightenment for you at the end of each newsletter. We value your agency, so it’s up to you whether or not you receive it!
This Dose of Enlightenment is a frequency equation meant to clear a hidden and trapped emotion that you’ve been holding onto.
If today's emotion is one that we have already cleared, know that we are addressing a different layer or situation this time.
*******************************************************
Today’s emotion is: hypocritical
How does this emotion apply to you? For best results, ponder this question and identify how hypocritical applies to you.
Dose of Enlightenment: 100 + 900 = E
Say it out loud with intent: “one-hundred plus nine-hundred equals enlightenment.”
Breathe. Let it go. Feel the shift. Allow your body to be filled with light.
