Rest Your Brain

My husband, who is a bishop at BYU Idaho, had spent three weeks studying and preparing a talk to give the first Sunday of the fall semester to the new and returning students.

There had been boundary changes and all of the men student leadership were now in a new ward.

On Saturday, Charlie remembered he was supposed to meet some of his ward members to greet the students at their various apartments. He wanted to take all 27 apartments a loaf of bread with an attached scripture.

It was 1:30 pm when he remembered. He had 3 hours to put everything together. I knew that it would be impossible to get 27 loaves of bread at one location without planning ahead, so I talked him into something that would be easier.

We settled on baked goods from our local bakery, and skipped the scripture.

He was exhausted when we returned home and sat down to text everyone about meeting at 5:00 pm. “Bishop, the plan was to meet at 3:00 pm. We are already here.” He rushed out the door and made the 20-minute drive.

He was not only speaking the next day, but he was also conducting the meeting, and had an early morning meeting to prepare for—complete with an agenda.

Already overly tired, there were things that still needed to be done. He stayed up—way too late—making sure everything was just right.

Needless to say, being overly exhausted manifested as he was conducting Sacrament meeting the next day.

He was unable to think straight and made a couple of strange announcements—like repeating things or thinking he forgot to announce something that he already had announced!

Friends, if you can’t think straight, SLOW DOWN.

Don’t try to walk faster than you can run.

Stop overloading your already full plate, and ask for help—there are those who are always willing to pitch in.

You don’t have to do life alone. See the dose of enlightenment below to help clear your brain.

With love,

Jeri

Since we promised to treat you to an extra dose of light in your inbox, we include a Dose of Enlightenment for you at the end of each newsletter. We value your agency, so it’s up to you whether or not you receive it!

This Dose of Enlightenment is a frequency equation meant to clear a hidden and trapped emotion that you’ve been holding onto.

If today's emotion is one that we have already cleared, know that we are addressing a different layer or situation this time.

*******************************************************

Today’s emotion is: can't think straight

How does this emotion apply to you? For best results, ponder this question and identify how can't think straight applies to you.

Dose of Enlightenment: 162 + 838 = E

Say it out loud with intent: "one-sixty-two plus eight-thirty-eight equals enlightenment.”

Breathe. Let it go. Feel the shift. Allow your body to be filled with light.

*******************************************************

The Doses of Enlightenment come from the M: Collaborations with the Divine Doctor book by Jaclyn Taylor. If you haven’t picked up a copy yet and want to learn more about how this works, you can get one here:
