Hired as the very first employee of a brand-new start up business, I loved my occupation as an optician, my patients, my boss... everything about it was incredible!
Helping my patients brought me so much joy. It was amazing spending quality time with each one, helping them pick out the most flattering frame for their face shape, and selling them the best lenses available for their budget. I was great at my job.
Employed part-time, I was regularly clocking over 40 hours a week as the successful business quickly grew. Most nights I found myself there alone, long after hours—8:30, 9:00, and even after 10:00 on occasion.
For me to keep promises to my patients, orders for lenses needed to be placed at the end of the day so we could have a quick turn-around.
Those late nights soon became too much for me to bear, as there was less and less time to rest and relax, which was imperative to my sanity!
I soon recognized the huge imbalance in giving and receiving as I placed more and more demands on myself—I was giving far more than I was allowing myself to receive—and it was wearing me out.
You know what I’m talking about!
You give and give until your bucket is completely empty, and there’s nothing left to pour back in—not even a drop.
Although this example happened in the work place, you can also find this disparity in your marriage and other relationships; such as family and friends, or volunteering for community service or serving at your church.
It is so important to take a step back and evaluate your situation. You cannot function when your tank is empty.
What conversations do you need to have—or what changes do you need to make—so you can stop running on empty?
Don’t be afraid to ask for help. The people you are serving don’t want to find you passed out next to your empty bucket!
If you’ve been running on empty—and find it hard to balance all you give with the rest, healing, and support you need—see the dose of enlightenment below.
With love,
Jeri

Since we promised to treat you to an extra dose of light in your inbox, we include a Dose of Enlightenment for you at the end of each newsletter. We value your agency, so it’s up to you whether or not you receive it!
This Dose of Enlightenment is a frequency equation meant to clear a hidden and trapped emotion that you’ve been holding onto.
If today's emotion is one that we have already cleared, know that we are addressing a different layer or situation this time.
*******************************************************
Today’s emotion is: imbalanced in giving and receiving
How does this emotion apply to you? For best results, ponder this question and identify how imbalanced in giving and receiving applies to you.
Dose of Enlightenment: 77 + 923 = E
Say it out loud with intent: "seventy-seven plus nine-twenty-three equals enlightenment.”
Breathe. Let it go. Feel the shift. Allow your body to be filled with light.
