As a little child in elementary school, I was afraid to raise my hand and make comments because I was scared my question or answer would be wrong and that the kids would laugh at me.
As an adult, I enjoy participating in classes. But lately, even though my comments are meant to contribute and edify, they are not well received by the instructor.
It seems that even though the teacher encourages discussion, he/she is looking for a certain outcome. Because I think differently, my comments are ignored or I feel like the teacher tries to belittle me.
When this happens it makes me doubt myself and I feel like what I do or say doesn’t matter… all the time I spend studying and preparing doesn’t matter.
Overcoming this particular issue is a difficult process because of childhood conditioning. Maybe you can relate to this…
As a little child you were expected to act and behave a certain way. You quickly learned how to please your parents and teachers by learning and doing your best to please them and live up to their expectations.
But now… now a culmination of lifetime experience has given you the courage to stand up and speak up. The desire to contribute and enjoy a sense of belonging is a strong driving force.
When a teacher in an adult class doesn’t appreciate or seem to want your input—you may feel like you have been thrown back to your childhood when you were expected to just listen, learn and do what the adults expected you to do.
It has taken me a lifetime to learn to speak up and have the courage to participate.
I am diligently working on overcoming the feelings that what I say and do doesn’t matter. It continues to be a process.
One of the biggest things I have learned so far is that when you embrace false beliefs about yourself, doubt creeps in.
Doubt is dangerous because it affects your divinity and blocks your energy flow in both directions making it difficult to connect to your divinity, earthly purpose and to heaven and earth. The saddest part is that if you aren’t diligent, careful and prayerful, it can also cause a disconnection from God.
Here are my tips for reversing the belief that what you do and say doesn’t matter:
1. Make time for the Lord every day. Consistency in your spiritual development creates a safe space for growth, helps you receive answers to your questions and leaves no room for self-doubt.
2. Make self-compassion a habit. Believing that you are unworthy, inferior, can’t be forgiven, or not good enough are all bad habits that invite blockages to invade your body.
These are false traditions and lies that the adversary wants you to believe. Be persistent in showing yourself compassion and forgiveness. Seek divine guidance by praying to overcome these lies.
3. Be consistent. Recognize that healing happens in layers and getting to the roots and boulders that may be tied to childhood beliefs can take time and effort. Stick to it.
4. Embrace your divine purpose and spiritual gifts. Pray and ask Heavenly Father to help you know and understand your divine purpose and to open up ways for you to serve and help others using your God-given talents and gifts.
My friends, please remember that God always has another lesson in store. As long as you are alive, He will continue to lovingly teach and instruct in ways that make you and me feel uncomfortable!
The beauty of it is, that every time you overcome those doubts and false beliefs, you will come back stronger and more aware of your divinity.
With love,
Jeri

Since we promised to treat you to an extra dose of light in your inbox, we include a Dose of Enlightenment for you at the end of each newsletter. We value your agency, so it’s up to you whether or not you receive it!
This Dose of Enlightenment is a frequency equation meant to clear a hidden and trapped emotion that you’ve been holding onto.
If today's emotion is one that we have already cleared, know that we are addressing a different layer or situation this time.
*******************************************************
Today’s emotions are: not believing in what you do and say
How does this emotion apply to you? For best results, ponder this question and identify how not believing in what you do and say applies to you.
Dose of Enlightenment: 61 + 939 = E
Say it out loud with intent: “sixty-one plus nine-thirty-nine equals enlightenment.”
Breathe. Let it go. Feel the shift. Allow your body to be filled with light.
