Jeri: I get so bugged when I’m using doses of enlightenment and the same emotion comes up over and over again.

Does that ever happen to you?

Jac: Haha. Yes. And it can definitely be annoying. But then I remember that it’s just a different layer—probably a deeper layer—and that it’s ok, and even necessary to address it on those deeper layers. 

Is there a particular emotion that you’re annoyed with that’s been coming up for you?

Jeri: Creative insecurity.

Only this time I feel like its teaching me something different because, personally, I’ve been on a creative roll and I just want to keep cranking out content for our certification course.

Jac: That’s awesome, I’m excited for the content we are creating too!

It’s interesting that creative insecurity would come up for you at a time when you’re feeling creative. Would you like to do a little digging? And by a little, I might mean a lot ;)

Jeri: Yes! Let’s excavate. I’m always open to receiving further truth about emotional work.

Jac: I’m glad you’re open to it now, because I seem to remember a few minutes ago, you weren’t pleased at the idea. Haha. Like perhaps the adversary was working against you to prevent you from a breakthrough. 

The adversary intends to stop us from progressing, but really he is helping confirm to us that we are on the right path. Does that ring true to you?

Jeri: Way to call me out! Haha! Yes, it does ring true. When I think of opposition regarding creative insecurity, I believe that adversity helps me weigh things out in my mind in order to help me make better choices when I’m working through a creative block. 

Jac: Excellent! That’s pretty powerful. Opposition is inadvertently helping you become better and better when you choose to follow your creative inspiration. That is the power of becoming!

Jeri: Exactly. Because if we didn’t have opposition there would be no reason to keep trying to do better and become better, which is ultimately why we are here.

Already I can see the blessing of creative insecurity. I have never thought of it that way before. Thanks for the challenge to dig deep. That was cool. 

Jac: And that there... is the blessing of being willing to dig deep to excavate the roots behind your emotions.
