I love the truthfulness of the above quote. The energy of creation is always in motion. You are always creating your life, whether you are aware of your creation or not. The following story is a perfect example of subconsciously creating versus consciously creating. 

When I first met Gia (not her real name), she was literally frozen in fear and was hardly able to function. Her husband traveled for work and this young mother was left at home with her three little ones. She was unable to sleep at night and her imagination worked in overdrive. 

I talked to her about putting on the full armor of God, found in Ephesians chapter 6. Then I felt inspired to ask, “what are you doing just for you to fill your bucket?”

There was nothing. She completely drew a blank. I pressed, “What did you love to do as a child? What brought you joy?”

Reaching deep into the recesses of her mind, she slowly discovered something. She loved to draw, color and paint. In fact, art was her college major. 

As she left that day, I encouraged her to pray and do a deep dive study about putting on the full armor of God.  In addition, I told her get out her paints and start creating. This was something she could do with her children while the baby was sleeping. It would be fun!

A week later Gia delighted me with the most precious gift. It was a darling painting a girl dressed in the full armor of God. She was having so much fun painting, and her kids were loving their time creating together. She looked happy and confided that she wasn’t so afraid to be alone anymore.

I love how she embodied the definition of creation, which is ‘the action or process of bringing something into existence’.

Gia didn’t stop there, she decided to be in charge and to create positive outcomes in her life. It was a joy to watch the changes she implemented with her beautiful family.

What are you willing to do to create your life? Pray about it, ponder it, write it down. Be a conscious creator.
