Jac: When we lost Grandma Voy, we lost so much more than one of the best people we knew—she had the gift of making everyone—and I mean EVERYONE—feel special and loved as an individual.
It didn’t matter what their background was, how they were living their life, or how toxic their habits. She treated them with lovingkindness.
She was my last living grandparent, and while all of their losses were difficult in their own way, losing Grandma Voy felt akin to losing everything.
She was a safe space, an example of goodness and light, a gathering place, the glue that held the extended family together… She was the one who you always knew would be there for you, no matter what.
Jeri: That is so true. She also prayed continuously for her loved ones. I loved her example of faith in prayers—many of those prayers she didn’t live to see, but I know they are still in effect.
I miss her everyday. It is hard to loose someone so incredibly close and important to you.
It brings me comfort as I watch my children and grandchildren and see her example live on through each of them.
What are some ways you have found comfort in her loss?
Jac: I find comfort in knowing that she’s still around—because there truly is life after death. I’ve also found it’s important to allow myself to grieve when needed.
It’s been just over 2 years, but the grief and sadness still hits sometimes. I believe that grieving brings us closer to God and Christ—which is the greatest comfort of all.
Jeri: I fully agree—there is definitely power in grieving. We usually don’t think of grief that way, but anything that brings you closer to your Heavenly Father or Jesus Christ, the master healer, you will find His power.
There is power as you sit with your grief and gain understanding—and there is power as you receive strength through remembering your loved one.
Sometimes that is just the power you need in order to make it through another day.
For those of you who are missing a loved one this holiday season, We pray you will be blessed with comfort, strength and understanding as you seek peace through your Heavenly Father and His Son. Know that you are loved.
Please see the dose of enlightenment below.
With much love,
Jeri and Jac

Today’s emotion is: loss of someone or something
How does this emotion apply to you? For best results, ponder this question and identify how loss of someone or something applies to you.
Dose of Enlightenment: 89 + 911 = E
Say it out loud with intent: “eighty-nine plus nine-eleven equals enlightenment.”
Breathe. Let it go. Feel the shift. Allow your body to be filled with light.
