The Schoolmarm’s Wrath

Max, my dad, hated school… even more, he hated ole ‘schoolmarm’ Wasden, his teacher. His skin was pasty white and his hair was white as snow and the lenses on his glasses were as thick as the bottom of a coke bottle… maybe even thicker.

Wasden lived next door, and according to Max, he wasn’t a good neighbor—besides that he didn’t have much patience with his young students. There were certain things he just would not stand for in his class.

He kept his yardstick close and was quick to slap his pupils across their knuckles or backside. Those were the days when corporal punishment was widely accepted in public schools and Max was often the object of Mr. Wasden’s wrath.

Max was fed up. One day he chose to be deliberately disrespectful and called Mr. Wasden: ‘Schoolmarm’ Wasden to his face.

Wasden was immediately enraged. His eyes bulged out and his face turned beet red. Max got a good beating at the hands of his irate teacher… a beating he always remembered.

A ‘schoolmarm’ is an antiquated term, used for a female schoolteacher, especially one who is considered strict, prim, bossy, old-fashioned and critical.

After that beating, 14-year-old Max, dropped out of school.

Did you know that when you make the decision, “I won’t stand for this”, you are refusing to accept, permit, or endure something?

Often times, the choice is a reaction and is made out of anger—other times, your verdict was made after putting in a lot of thought… but still those thoughts were likely based in anger and the results can be detrimental to yourself and others.

Letting go of the impulsive and angry emotion “I won’t stand for this” opens the path for you to make more loving, thoughtful and compassionate decisions based on forgiveness and steeped in wisdom.

Get started by saying the dose of enlightenment below.

With love,

Jeri

Since we promised to treat you to an extra dose of light in your inbox, we include a Dose of Enlightenment for you at the end of each newsletter. We value your agency, so it’s up to you whether or not you receive it!

This Dose of Enlightenment is a frequency equation meant to clear a hidden and trapped emotion that you’ve been holding onto.

If today's emotion is one that we have already cleared, know that we are addressing a different layer or situation this time.

*******************************************************

Today’s emotions are: “I won’t stand for this”

How does this emotion apply to you? For best results, ponder this question and identify how “I won’t stand for this” applies to you.

Dose of Enlightenment: 133 + 867 = E

Say it out loud with intent: “one-thirty-three plus eight-sixty-seven equals enlightenment.”

Breathe. Let it go. Feel the shift. Allow your body to be filled with light.
