Mrs. Jamison (name has been changed) was stern. I don’t remember her ever smiling. And I’m not sure she ever liked any of her students. She even called certain students “stupid” in front of their entire class. In fact, she did that very thing to my brother.
I always wondered why someone like that would want to teach. Shouldn’t teachers, at the very least, like children!?
One day, when I was in her class, Mrs. Jamison asked us to turn in permission slips for a field trip. I couldn’t find mine anywhere.
So she yelled at me and dumped my entire desk out in front of the whole class and told me what a mess I was...
The permission slip was there—it must have accidentally gotten pushed to the back of my desk when I had put one of my books away...
I don’t think I’ve ever been so humiliated in my life.
After that, my desk was always perfectly clean. I made sure papers never got trapped behind my books in the desk. I became a model student. All of my teachers loved me. I got good grades. I helped the other students. I always turned everything in on time.
Those definitely aren’t bad things… However, I also learned from that experience to never ask for a teacher’s help, to never ask questions, to figure everything out myself, and to expect absolute perfection of myself (according to the teacher’s expectations and expectations from others in different areas of my life) to prevent another experience like that from ever happening.
Fear toward authority figures often shows up because of past experiences that caused humiliation and embarrassment, which often leads to feelings of inadequacy, low self-worth, and rejection.
It can cause us to behave differently toward people in positions of authority, to feel nervous about social pressures, to worry about whether or not the things we say and do are correct, and to be constantly fearful that our actions may damage our reputation.
The good news is, we don’t have to live that way! There is a dose of enlightenment below to help you clear your fears toward authority figures—whether it’s just one, or two, or all of them.
Love from Jac

Since we promised to treat you to an extra dose of light in your inbox, we include a Dose of Enlightenment for you at the end of each newsletter. We value your agency, so it’s up to you whether or not you receive it!
This Dose of Enlightenment is a frequency equation meant to clear a hidden and trapped emotion that you’ve been holding onto.
If today's emotion is one that we have already cleared, know that we are addressing a different layer or situation this time.
*******************************************************
Today’s emotion is: fear toward authority figure
How does this emotion apply to you? For best results, ponder this question and identify how fear toward authority figure applies to you.
Dose of Enlightenment: 98 + 902 = E
Say it out loud with intent: “ninety-eight plus nine-zero-two equals enlightenment.”
Breathe. Let it go. Feel the shift. Allow your body to be filled with light.
