Jeri: We have a dear and precious friend who has suffered through an enormous amount of emotional and mental cruelty at the hands of her family for as long as we have known her.
Just after her aging mom passed away, she was served papers from her father and brothers, her mom’s signature was included—her family basically divorced her, and her posterity. Their actions were heartless and cruel.
Jac: I know it’s been super difficult for her. Who even does that!?
Jeri: It has been interesting working with her on her extremely painful healing journey. She has had mountains of emotions to climb and overcome—heartbreak, abandonment, betrayal, confusion and anything else you can imagine. So many ups and downs as she has navigated such a devastating blow.
If she had a theme song chorus, it would be: “I get knocked down, but I get up again, You are never gonna keep me down…”
Jac: Ah yes… Chumbawamba’s “Tubthumping…” That definitely fits.
Jeri: She has no idea what she did to cause her family to pass such a harsh judgment. Personally, I believe they can’t abide her light—her light is so bright, she sparkles!
Jac: Oh, she absolutely sparkles! And sadly, it’s true that some people just can’t handle the bright, radiant light within others. She's very different from the rest of her family.
Jeri: Recently, she and her husband had dinner with a spiritual leader of her faith. He told her, “you can act, or you can be acted upon.”
These words were so empowering and healing to her.
When you think about those who have caused you grief or pain in your life because of their cruel actions, I challenge you to think about acting, instead of letting someone act upon you.
Jac: That is excellent advice. The Lord wants you to be an agent unto yourself—to act, and not to be acted upon. That is why healing the inner victim is so vital to each one of us—and especially to those who seem to have drama and/or trauma thrust upon them at every turn.
Truly, you can choose to break free by becoming a creator instead of a victim. You can shift your perspectives and perceptions. You can choose to co-create your life with God, rather than continuing to allow yourself to be acted upon. It may not be easy, but it’s absolutely worth it.
If you have experienced cruelty—on any level—at the hands of others, there is a dose of enlightenment below.
Know that you are loved,
Jeri and Jac

Since we promised to treat you to an extra dose of light in your inbox, we include a Dose of Enlightenment for you at the end of each newsletter. We value your agency, so it’s up to you whether or not you receive it!
This Dose of Enlightenment is a frequency equation meant to clear a hidden and trapped emotion that you’ve been holding onto.
If today's emotion is one that we have already cleared, know that we are addressing a different layer or situation this time.
*******************************************************
Today’s emotion is: cruel
How does this emotion apply to you? For best results, ponder this question and identify how cruel applies to you.
Dose of Enlightenment: 47 + 953 = E
Say it out loud with intent: “forty-seven plus nine-fifty-three equals enlightenment.”
Breathe. Let it go. Feel the shift. Allow your body to be filled with light.
