I can’t tell you how many times since getting divorced (which was way back at age 23), I have told Heavenly Father I was ready to find my person, get married, and have a family.

I have been back in the single’s scene for a while, and I think it’s safe to say that 22 years is a very long time to not be getting my own way. 

Sometimes it has felt very confusing as to why, since it seems like such a good thing to desire. Plus, I have felt like God has promised those blessings to me multiple times. So how can I not believe in those promises!?

And other times, it has felt completely hopeless—like those blessings will never come. So what is the point!?

However, when I look back, I can see that I wasn’t as ready as I thought I was then. I was attracting the wrong types of guys. I have had a lot of healing to do. 

I’ve had to learn to really trust God and His timing… and remember that He knows me better than I know myself… 

When I look back and see all of the wonderful people I’ve met, the amazing things I’ve been able to experience, and the incredible work I’ve been able to be a part of… I can see that I have been blessed richly and I find myself feeling beyond grateful!! 

Which also helps me feel grateful that the Lord knows the when… so why worry!? Especially when he is blessing me every single day. 

It’s a process for sure. 

If you’ve ever felt like you’re not getting your own way—or that you’re not receiving promised blessings in the time you want them—don’t lose hope! Your Heavenly Father knows you better than anyone, and His promises are sure. 

There’s a dose of enlightenment below to help you find peace and contentment now… even if the now doesn’t seem to quite be what you want yet.
