Jeri: My uncle recently passed away, just short of his 99th birthday. He was a crack shot with a rifle, extremely handsome and very funny. I wanted so badly to go to his funeral.
My husband is still recovering from double knee replacements, Jac is super busy with the business, so I called my other daughter to see if she wanted to go with me.
She was so excited to go, so I quickly made hotel reservations… but within a few hours, she called to let me know that she just remembered it was her daughter’s seminary graduation, and she wouldn’t be able to go after all.
I felt bad that I had also forgotten. I wanted to be there for my granddaughter. Especially because she would be singing in a quartet.
I decided that because I had already made reservations, I would check with my sisters and see if one of them would like to stay with me. I got three no’s and felt very dejected.
Jac: It’s hard when you get so many no’s! That kind of rejection would make me feel dejected too.
Jeri: After all of those no’s, I worried that if I went, I would not only be alone at the hotel, but I would be alone at the funeral. I was making up stories in my head, and that only made me feel even more dejected!
Jac: Oh no! What did you decide to do?
Jeri: I ended up cancelling my reservation and watched the funeral online, which brought me so much peace.
I knew if I stayed home I could attend my granddaughter’s seminary graduation and celebration afterward. Plus, I was comfortable knowing that I wouldn’t be alone or feel dejected by watching the funeral online at home.
Jac: It sounds like that was a really good solution for you.
Jeri: Yes, sometimes we can’t control the disappointments that come—but we can choose not to stay in them. When rejection stings, it’s easy to pull back and close off, but peace comes when we choose to shift our focus, open our hearts, and keep moving forward.
If you’ve been feeling dejected or left out lately, there’s a dose of enlightenment below to help lift that heaviness and remind you how loved and supported you really are.
Love from Jeri and Jac

Since we promised to treat you to an extra dose of light in your inbox, we include a Dose of Enlightenment for you at the end of each newsletter. We value your agency, so it’s up to you whether or not you receive it!
This Dose of Enlightenment is a frequency equation meant to clear a hidden and trapped emotion that you’ve been holding onto.
If today's emotion is one that we have already cleared, know that we are addressing a different layer or situation this time.
*******************************************************
Today’s emotion is: dejected
How does this emotion apply to you? For best results, ponder this question and identify how dejected applies to you.
Dose of Enlightenment: 88 + 912 = E
Say it out loud with intent: “eighty-eight plus nine-twelve equals enlightenment.”
Breathe. Let it go. Feel the shift. Allow your body to be filled with light.
