Jac: I’ve been thinking about how sometimes the most painful criticism we hear, is from the voice in our own head. I’ve experienced times when I thought people were judging me, but really I was only judging myself…
That caused me to falsely perceive what other people must be thinking about me, and create interpretations of situations that weren’t based in reality—even though it all felt very real to me.
Realistically speaking, people don’t think about you as much as you think they do.
Jeri: That’s true. And I know what you mean. Years ago, Charlie served on city council. Most of the council members were new to the experience, yet they all worked together for the good of the community. Charlie liked to say they had synergy.
Some in our small town felt threatened by perceived changes and a destructive gossip chain started up. The worst kind of lies were spread about the council members and the mayor.
Things got ugly really fast.
That was a very difficult time for us. We didn’t know who we could trust. Everywhere we went, we wondered who was a friend and who was an enemy. Before long we stopped shopping in town because we didn’t know who we might run into…
Jac: That sounds rough. And I think that’s what makes this so tricky — when fear takes over, we start interpreting the world through that fear… But the truth is tends to be more gentle than we realize.
Jeri: That’s a good point. As hard and miserable as that time was, I believe it was necessary for our growth.
Looking back, I can see that the criticism and worry in my head played louder than the real critics.
We were so afraid of being criticized—and so worried about what other people were thinking—we became oversensitive—we thought people were thinking the very things we were worried about.
Jac: It’s amazing how powerful the mind is at creating—even when it’s creating situations like you just described. Thankfully, once we open our eyes to the Truth, we can heal.
If you are ready to silence the critic in your head, and move forward with confidence, see the dose of enlightenment below.

Since we promised to treat you to an extra dose of light in your inbox, we include a Dose of Enlightenment for you at the end of each newsletter. We value your agency, so it’s up to you whether or not you receive it!
This Dose of Enlightenment is a frequency equation meant to clear a hidden and trapped emotion that you’ve been holding onto.
If today's emotion is one that we have already cleared, know that we are addressing a different layer or situation this time.
*******************************************************
Today’s emotion is: oversensitive to criticism
How does this emotion apply to you? For best results, ponder this question and identify how oversensitive to criticism applies to you.
Dose of Enlightenment: 96 + 904 = E
Say it out loud with intent: “ninety-six plus nine-zero-four equals enlightenment.”
Breathe. Let it go. Feel the shift. Allow your body to be filled with light.
